CAM, Sustainability and Competitiveness

We support companies in achieving environmental product certification in accordance with CP DOC 262, ReMade in Italy and UNI/PdR 88. We provide verification of recycled, recovered and by-product content to ensure CAM compliance while driving sustainability and market competitiveness.

CP DOC 262, Remade and UNI/PdR 88

What are CP DOC 262, ReMade and UNI/PdR 88 certifications

CP DOC 262, ReMade and UNI/PdR 88:2020 are accredited certifications schemes designed to verify the recycled, recovered and/or by-product content within products. They provide credible, verifiable evidence of the sustainability and circularity of the materials used.

These certifications streamline regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to CAM (Minimum Environmental Criteria) requirements regarding minimum recycled content. By supporting the circular economy, they enable businesses to access public tenders, gain a competitive edge and transparently communicate their commitment to environmental responsibility.

The schemes

Three frameworks for material circularity

Not all recycled products are created equal. Depending on your industry and specific goals, we guide you toward the most appropriate standard:

CP DOC 262

the CP DOC 262 scheme by ICMQ certifies the environmental performance of any product or component, regardless of the industry. Applicable to both manufacturers and importers, it is a key tool for ensuring compliance with CAM (Minimum Environmental Criteria). It is essential for participating in public administration tenders, particularly within the construction and building sector.

UNI/PdR 88:2020

This is a Reference Practice (PdR) published by UNI in August 2020. It was developed to establish a standardized methodology for verifying and certifying recycled, recovered and/or by-product content in products. While not a national standard (norm), it is an official UNI document that outlines shared industry best practices and technical requirements.

Certification based on this practice is recognized as an appropriate means of verification to demonstrate compliance with CAM requirements.

Remade

ReMade (often referred to as ReMade in Italy) is a third-party certification accredited by Accredia that validates the recycled or recovered material content of a product. It is managed by an eponymous association that has developed a dedicated environmental label for product application.

ReMade in Italy assigns a “Merit Class” (Rating) to products, making environmental communication much more intuitive for both consumers and public procurement officers.

What is it for

The purpose of recycled content certification

It serves to demonstrate, in a verifiable and transparent manner, that a product contains recycled or recovered materials. This enhances environmental credibility and facilitates access to public tenders and premium market opportunities.

The Benefits

Circularity means Market access

Certifying your recycled content is not a cost, but it is a strategic move for both defense and growth:

  • Tax exemptions and incentives: in many sectors, using certified recycled materials means paying lower taxes (such as the Plastic Tax) or accessing significant tax credits.
  • Tender scoring: in public procurement, certifications like ReMade or UNI PdR 88 are no longer just a “bonus”. They are often mandatory requirement or the decisive factor in winning technical points.
  • Brand trust: as a supplier to major brands, your certified data is essential for their sustainability reporting (GRI/CSRD). Without it, you risk being left out of the supply chain.

FAQ

What is CAM and why does it matter?

CAM (Minimum Environmental Criteria) are mandatory environmental requirements in public tenders for specific product and service categories. They frequently include criteria related to certified recycled content.

How long is the certification valid?

Typically, certifications are valid for three years, with annual surveillance audits to ensure that high standards are consistently maintained.

Can semi-finished products be certified too?

Absolutely. Supply chain certifications is designed for exactly that: ensuring value is maintained at every single stage.

Does UNI PdR 88 replace ReMade in Italy?

No, they are distinct certification schemes. While ReMade is highly specific to the Italian market and CAM requirements, UNI/PdR 88 provides an excellent technical foundation for traceability. We will help you choose the one that best fits your needs.
