With a Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) you assign a precise value to the impact of every single unit that leaves your facility. Scientific, certified and indisputable.
Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP)
The true weight of your products
Introduction
Why do you want to measure your Carbon Footprint of Product?
I want to understand my emission breakdown and make my business processes more efficient.
I just need the certification
Carbon Footprint of Product (ISO 14067)
What is the Carbon Footprint of Product?
The Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) is the total sum of greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout the entire life cycle of a product or service. From raw material extraction to final disposal (the cradle-to-grave approach), every gram of CO2 is accounted for.
- Goodbye Greenwashing: ISO 14067 is the international standard that transforms vague claims into verified data.
- Supply chain efficiency: identify energy waste and inefficiencies across your entire supply chain.
- Retail & GDO readiness: retail giant increasingly prioritize suppliers who transparently disclose their carbon footprint.
Why NOT to choose us
"Green" isn't a color, it's a numerical value
We don’t just hand a PDF to be tucked away and forgotten in a drawer. We provide a strategy to drive those numbers down and turn your analysis into an investment. At Ecoloop, environmental impact assessments aren’t the end goal, they are the means to an end. They are tools to better understand your products and processes, enabling you to make smarter decisions. A CFP transforms your narrative from “creative storytelling” to “data-driven engineering”.
- you just need a piece of paper so you can say “we’re green”
We don’t claim to be saving the world (we’re not heroes). We just prefer to stop making it worse.
CFP e LCA analysis
CFP calculation and LCA analysis: the data behind the product
The core of a Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) is the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. At Ecoloop, we don’t settle for surface-level estimates, we analyze every stage:
- Procurement: the impact of your raw materials and your supplier network.
- Manufacturing: energy consumption and waste generated during production.
- Logistics: the carbon weight of transportation and global distribution.
- Use and End-of-life: how the product is used and the environmental cost of its final disposal.
CFP compliance
Is CFP certification mandatory?
Currently, ISO 14067 (CFP) is voluntary (except for specific sectors such as public construction under GPP). However, it is rapidly becoming a “de-facto” requirement for:
- products regulated under the EU Ecodesign Regulation (ESPR), such as electronics, textiles and packaging
- suppliers of large corporations with SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) or CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) obligations
- Companies making environmental claims (Green Claims Directive)

THE BENEFITS
The competitive advantages of a Carbon Footprint of Product
CFP vs EPD
CFP vs EPD: let's clear things up
Which one should you choose? It depends on how deep you want to go.
- EPD: a comprehensive, third-party verified and publicly registered document. It is more complex and covers a wider range of environmental indicators beyond just carbon.
- CFP (ISO 14067): a more agile and streamlined approach. It focuses specifically on equivalents CO2 and is the perfect choice if your primary goal is communicating your carbon footprint to stakeholders.
Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) consulting
CFP certification in 4 steps: fast, technical and seamless
We've streamlined a complex technical process into a seamless 4-step journey. You provide the data, we provide the science.
Mapping (What is being weighed?)
Together we define the product scope and the functional unit. We define the product scope and the functional unit. We determine the boundaries of the analysis, whether it’s a cradle-to-gate assessment of production or a cradle-to-grave study including final disposal.
Data collection (What goes in?)
We guide you through the process of gathering real consumption data: from raw material and energy usage to logistics and packaging.
LCA Modeling (What is the weight?)
We process your data using specialized software to calculate the exact kilograms of CO2 equivalent (CO2e) for your product.
Strategy (How do we improve?)
We deliver a technical report that is ready for certification, highlighting exactly where to take action to drive down both your environmental impact and your costs.

FAQ
How long does a CFP stay valid?
A CFP (ISO 14067) remains valid as long as there are no substantial changes to your production process or supply chain (specifically, a variation in impact exceeding 10%). Generally, we recommend an update every 2 to 3 years.
Do I need a CFP for GPP or public tenders?
Often, yes. But an EPD is generally the more comprehensive choice for that sector. A CFP, on the other hand, is the perfect tool for B2C markets and brand strategy.
Can I claim my product is “Carbon Neutral” after a CFP?
Only if – once the numbers are in – you reduce as much as possible and offset the rest. We help you do both, with no shortcuts.
What if my suppliers don’t provide the data?
We utilize certified international databases and mathematical models to estimate the impact of materials when primary data isn’t available. But there’s more to it: launching a PCF gives you the leverage to tell your suppliers: “Either provide the data, or I’ll find a partner who is as transparent as I am”.
